Affiliate Disclosure

Short version: Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you buy through them, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. I only recommend products I’ve genuinely researched and believe are worth considering.

What are affiliate links?

Some links on Carry On Gear Guide point to products on Amazon and other retailers. These are affiliate links, meaning if you click one and make a purchase, I receive a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you use my link or navigate to the product yourself.

Amazon Associates

Carry On Gear Guide is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

How this affects my recommendations

My editorial process starts with research, not commissions. I identify the backpacks most commonly recommended by real travelers on Reddit, FlyerTalk, and verified buyer reviews, then write about them. The fact that a product has an affiliate link does not influence whether it gets recommended, how prominently it is featured, or what I say about it.

I am transparent about product weaknesses, call out misleading marketing claims, and include honest assessments drawn from aggregated user feedback. I also disclose clearly on every review that I do not personally test every product.
